Acoustic Lounge

Acoustic Lounge
– SOUL, JAZZ & JINGLE BELLS
In May 2019, Acoustic Lounge headed into the recording studio, decorated for Christmas, enjoyed traditional Danish Christmas pastries and drank mulled wine – all to create the perfect festive atmosphere for recording their Christmas EP This Christmas. Released later that year, the EP features three carefully chosen Christmas classics, reimagined with equal parts respect for the originals, fresh ideas and Acoustic Lounge's warm, laid-back sound.
It marked the beginning of their annual Christmas concerts around Denmark.
Audiences are invited to enjoy an intimate and cosy musical experience featuring a selection of well-known international and Danish Christmas classics, including Winter Wonderland, Når Du Ser Et Stjerneskud and Dejlig Er Jorden.
More recent songs include the Danish Hvad Er Det Der Gør Jul Til Noget Særligt and The Love, written by Acoustic Lounge's pianist and singer Søren Baun, known for his powerful and expressive voice.
In Acoustic Lounge, the drummer has been fired and replaced by two percussionists who create an atmospheric winter soundscape throughout the concert using percussion instruments from around the world. The closely knit percussion duo Mikkel Schnettler and Michael Hartvig have played together for over 20 years. The band also features acclaimed Danish bassist Jesper Bodilsen and virtuoso Hungarian saxophonist Gabor Bolla.
Acoustic Lounge have released two albums. Their latest album, Alone Together, has been well received on streaming platforms, and the track Black and Gold has received more than 250 plays on P8 Jazz.
Come in from the cold and enjoy a warm and festive moment with Soul, Jazz & Jingle Bells.
