Smedjen i Tejn is located on Tejn Harbour in a former blacksmith’s workshop – which is also reflected in the name, as “Smedjen” means the smithy. Today the place has been transformed into a lively meeting point for events, food and music during the summer season. The old buildings and the courtyard around the workshop provide the setting for a variety of gatherings where both locals and visitors come together.
Throughout the season the venue hosts concerts with Danish musicians and tribute bands, as well as themed evenings and audience events such as music bingo and other social activities. The programme varies from year to year, but the events all take place in the raw and informal surroundings of the harbour, where the stage and courtyard form the centre of the experience.
Smedjen i Tejn also features several food stalls serving street food made with carefully selected ingredients. The menu includes burgers made with Bornholm beef, fresh bowls, fish and chips and tacos with game such as elk and wild boar. Drinks include beers from Bornholm, homemade lemonade and a selection of cocktails.
The venue typically opens in spring and continues through the summer season, when the courtyard is often lively from lunchtime until late in the evening. With its harbour location and a mix of events, street food and relaxed atmosphere, Smedjen in Tejn has become a popular meeting place in Tejn during the summer months.
