Hammershus Evening Tour – in Danish

Hammershus Evening Tour – in Danish
Evening tour at Hammershus – an atmospheric medieval experience at dusk – including exclusive access to the Butter Cellar.
Language: Danish
Experience a very special evening tour at Hammershus, where medieval history comes to life in the soft light of dusk. This atmospheric guided tour is an immersive experience for both adults and older children. The tour includes a visit to the Butter Cellar, which is normally closed to visitors.
With bat lanterns in hand, we make our way up through the castle grounds as darkness slowly settles over one of Bornholm’s most iconic sights. Along the way, the guide tells the story of the castle’s changing roles over more than 700 years – from centre of power and fortress to abandoned ruin – and of the struggle for control of Bornholm in the Middle Ages.
In the special atmosphere of sunset and twilight, stories emerge that rarely have the same impact in daylight. You will hear about dramatic events, power struggles and the lives of people who once moved within these walls. The evening tour offers a different and more intense way to experience the history of Hammershus, with the surroundings adding even more atmosphere to the stories.
Through vivid storytelling, you will gain insight into the most important events in the history of Hammershus – Denmark’s largest castle ruin and one of the country’s most important medieval monuments.
