Blåskinsdalen

Blåskinsdalen
Blåskinsdalen is a nature experience where several landscapes meet within a relatively short distance. It is not only the valley itself, but the entire journey there that makes the place worth experiencing.
The experience begins along the coastal path near Jons Kapel. Here you move high above the sea on a narrow, gently undulating trail, where the view opens up in long stretches across the Baltic Sea, while the cliffs drop steeply below you. Along the way, the landscape shifts between open views, dense vegetation and rugged rock formations, and you constantly sense the variation in your surroundings.
After following the coast, the path turns inland and the landscape changes character. From the open and light-filled scenery, you move into Blåskinsdalen, where the atmosphere becomes calmer and more enclosed.
The valley itself cuts down through the bedrock and is a clear example of Bornholm’s rift valleys – formed by geological processes over millions of years. The steep sides, uneven paths and hilly terrain give the area a raw and natural character.
Here, the pace slows. The light softens between the trees, and the ground is covered with vegetation that changes with the seasons. In spring, blue anemones bloom, giving the valley its name and adding a distinctive atmosphere.
Blåskinsdalen brings the experience together in one continuous walk – from the open, dramatic coastline to a rift valley with a quieter, almost storybook-like atmosphere, where light filters through the trees and highlights the dense, green vegetation.
