Rift valleys

Rift valleys on Bornholm are narrow, deep gorges formed in ancient fractures in the bedrock caused by tectonic stresses, later shaped by ice and meltwater – today scenic landscapes with steep sides, woodland, and a very distinctive atmosphere.
