Bornholm Art Museum

Bornholm Art Museum is beautifully situated by the Helligdom Cliffs north of Gudhjem and is regarded as one of Denmark’s most notable examples of modern museum architecture. The bright building, completed in 1993 and expanded in 2003, is an experience in itself and sits in a spectacular rocky landscape close to Døndalen.

The museum features a permanent collection of art connected to Bornholm as well as 6–8 annual special exhibitions. The collections range from the Danish Golden Age to contemporary art and also include craft works in both traditional and modern forms. Bornholm Art Museum actively engages in research and international collaborations and aims to present art at a level that matches its unique surroundings.

Visitors are welcomed by a friendly and personal atmosphere in the ticket area, shop and café, where the museum strives to create a cohesive experience in harmony with the site and the art on display.
