The Camel Heads
The “Camel Heads” are a distinctive rock formation on the coast below Hammershus on Bornholm’s northwest shore. In a small bay west of the castle ruins, a large rock rises from the water, and on top of it are two natural rock shapes that, with a bit of imagination, resemble animal heads.
The formation has been shaped over many years by the erosive forces of the sea, which have gradually sculpted the rock into its present form. The Camel Heads can be seen clearly from the coastal path near Hammershus or from the shoreline cliffs below.
