Pernille Bülow Glass in Svaneke is one of Bornholm’s most distinctive glass studios, where design, craftsmanship and modern production come together in an active workshop environment.

At Glastorvet in Svaneke, you will find the open workshop where glassblowers work daily. Here, visitors can follow the entire process up close – from the glowing molten glass being taken from the hot furnace to its shaping with tools, wooden moulds and skilled hands into finished glasses, vases, lamps and other functional objects.

The company was founded by Pernille Bülow, a trained glassblower who has worked with glass since the early 1980s. After a period on Bornholm, she established her own glass studio in Svaneke, where both production and gallery are now combined.

The collections range from mouth-blown, handmade pieces to more industrial design series, where parts of the production are still completed on Bornholm. What unites the products is a simple and functional design language with a focus on the possibilities of the material.

Today, a significant part of the work is also linked to recycling and sustainability. Surplus glass from their own production and from industry is remelted and incorporated into new collections, where variations in colour and texture are a natural part of the expression.

In addition to the workshop and gallery, Pernille Bülow also offers experiences where visitors can work with glass themselves and create their own designs – an activity that provides insight into the material and the craftsmanship behind it.
