Gudhjem Golf Club – Rø Golf Courses is located in one of Bornholm’s most beautiful natural areas, just a few kilometres from Gudhjem. Here, golfers play in a varied landscape of woodland, rocks, lakes and streams, with beautiful views across the Baltic Sea. From several parts of the course, you can even see as far as Christiansø.
The club has two distinct 18-hole courses, Old Course and New Course, which together offer several days of varied golf in Bornholm’s distinctive natural surroundings.
Old Course – the classic nature course
Old Course is the shorter and more tactical of the two courses. Here, accuracy is often more important than distance.
The course winds through undulating terrain with woodland, rocks, lakes and streams. Its narrow passages and natural hazards make it challenging, while the surroundings create a distinctive golfing experience close to nature.
New Course – length and beautiful views
New Course is longer and more open, with wide fairways, large greens and four different tee positions. This allows the course to be adapted to different levels of ability while still providing experienced golfers with a solid challenge.
The opening holes feature open landscapes and beautiful views across the Baltic Sea, while the course later continues through woodland and old quarries with lakes and narrow passages. The wind from the sea can also have a significant influence on both club selection and strategy.
Try golf on the par-3 course
You do not need to be an experienced golfer to visit Rø Golf Courses. Maegaardsbanen is a 9-hole par-3 course where anyone can try golf without membership or previous experience.
The course is well suited to beginners, families and holidaymakers, but experienced golfers can also use it to practise their short game. Equipment can be hired on site.
Golf on your holiday
Rø Golf Courses is an excellent choice for golfers visiting Bornholm on holiday. Guests can play both 18-hole courses, with options including standard green fees and weekly passes.
Golf clubs, trolleys and golf buggies are available to hire, making it possible to enjoy a round even if you have not brought your own equipment on holiday.
Practice facilities and amenities
The club’s professional coach offers lessons for both beginners and experienced golfers. The practice area includes a driving range, putting green, practice bunkers and chipping greens.
The club also has a pro shop, changing facilities and Restaurant Stenby Mølle, where visitors can finish their visit with something to eat or drink.
