Gudhjem Museum is located in the former railway station from 1916, now a listed building and an important part of the museum’s exhibition setting. Next to it stands the museum’s newer exhibition building, and together they host changing displays of art, craft and local history. The exhibitions vary throughout the season and feature works and themes connected to Bornholm and the Gudhjem area.
The museum also presents the history of the old railway station and the development of Gudhjem, and it houses a local historical photo archive, which visitors can access by arrangement.
Outdoors you will find the museum’s nature and sculpture area — a large field with pathways, wild vegetation and a focus on biodiversity. Here you can experience a butterfly meadow and sculptures placed in the landscape, allowing you to enjoy nature and art in a single cohesive setting.
Gudhjem Museum is run by the Gudhjem By- og Museumsforening and serves as a local cultural centre where art, history and nature come together in both indoor and outdoor surroundings.
