Nexø Museum is located in the harbor area of Nexø’s oldest house, built in 1796 as "Nexøe Vagt" from sandstone from Frederiks Stenbrud. The museum officially opened in 1970 and is run by the Nexø og Omegns Museumsforening. Here, the history of Nexø and eastern Bornholm is conveyed through both permanent and temporary exhibitions, highlighting the town’s development over time.

- The Russian Occupation 1945-1946: Exhibitions and books tell the story of the time when nearly 8,000 Russian soldiers were stationed on Bornholm. The period was marked by both Cossack dancing, bartering, and challenges for the local population.

In the museum’s cellar, which was previously a prison cellar in the old courthouse, you can experience:
