Randkløve Skår is a striking fissure valley on the east coast of Bornholm, where a narrow cleft in the granite runs from the steep rocky coastline into the inland landscape. The cleft is located between Saltuna and Ypnæs/Ypnasted and is known for its dramatic, rugged coastal scenery with high cliffs and clear traces of glacial activity. The valley runs in an unusual direction compared to most other fissure valleys on Bornholm, making it geologically distinctive.
The area around Randkløve Skår consists of forest, rock formations and coastal terrain, and marked trails lead through the landscape. Access to the cleft requires a walk through hilly terrain, and the route is therefore not suitable for those with limited mobility. For hikers, the trails offer an opportunity to experience the area’s unique coastal nature and scenic viewpoints along Bornholm’s northeast coast.
Randkløve Skår is part of a larger protected nature area, where the Danish Nature Fund and local partners work on nature management and preservation of the region’s characteristic coastal landscapes.
