Bornholms Theatre was built in 1823 and is Denmark’s oldest functioning theatre. It is located in the historic part of Rønne.
The theatre offers several stages and facilities: a large main hall (the old stage) seating 306 people, a café that also serves as an intimate stage, several smaller performance rooms and a pleasant courtyard. It is used by the regional Bornholms Teater, local amateur and association groups, touring productions, as well as drama school and school performances.
Bornholms Theatre is technically modern after renovation, yet preserved as a protected cultural building in traditional half-timbered architecture.
The theatre is a key part of Bornholm’s cultural life — hosting productions across genres such as drama, revue, cabaret, amateur theatre and various events for both locals and visitors.
