Rønne

Rønne is Bornholm’s largest town and welcomes visitors with a beautiful view of the town as they arrive by ferry.

The town offers a rich cultural life with museums, arts and crafts, galleries and pleasant urban environments. The old town is characterised by beautiful half-timbered houses, cobbled streets and historic merchant’s houses, which give Rønne its distinctive charm. At the same time, beaches, green areas and coastal landscapes are all close to the town, offering good opportunities for walking and cycling.

The area around Store Torv, Lille Torv and the harbour forms the town’s lively centre, with a wide selection of shops, restaurants and cafés. Distances between attractions are short, making it easy to combine a town walk with museum visits, shopping and a café stop in the sunshine.

Rønne Harbour is the town’s maritime heart and an important part of daily life. This is where the majority of visitors to the island arrive, and the harbour area is lively throughout the year. From time to time, large cruise ships can be seen at the quay, adding a little extra life to both the harbour and the town’s streets.

In addition to the main ferry harbour, there is a cosy marina with seating areas and a small beach, just a few minutes’ walk from the town centre – an ideal spot for a break with views of the sea.

Rønne offers enough experiences for many visits and is characterised by a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, where town life, history and coastal nature go hand in hand.
