Værftet is located by Nexø Harbour and is Bornholm’s only indoor playground and skate centre. Inside the large former shipyard building, children and young people can burn off energy through play, movement and new challenges, while adults can watch from the café or join in the activities.
The 700 m² indoor playground includes climbing and play areas, a toddler corner with BRIO and DUPLO, a LEGO building zone, a play kitchen, swings, mattresses and soft play blocks for creating obstacle courses. Children can balance on Noah’s Ark, explore the Tower of Babel or swing their way through the Garden of Eden. There is also table football, table tennis, air hockey and space for ball games.
In the skate hall, visitors can try the ramps and rails on a skateboard or scooter. They can bring their own equipment or hire it on site. The activities continue outdoors with slacklines, ramps and a ball court, all close to the harbour and overlooking the Baltic Sea.
Værftet is also an open community centre with clubs and activities for different age groups. These include Tumle Torsdag for young children and their adults, creative clubs, activities for children and teenagers, evening skate sessions and various social events. Its volunteer-based work helps create an informal and inclusive place with room for play, creativity and community.
