Gun emplacement G3 (and G4)

Gun Positions G3 and G4 are located at Dueodde and are the remains of large German coastal fortifications begun during World War II. The installations were planned as part of an extensive artillery system equipped with massive 38 cm guns intended to reach the coast of Skåne. Foundations, bunkers and trenches were constructed, but the work was never completed before the war ended.

Today, the massive concrete bases and unfinished structures can still be seen in the landscape. They stand as clear reminders of the military activity on Bornholm during the occupation and of a construction project that ended before any weapons were ever installed.

The area around G3 and G4 is open to the public and offers visitors the chance to explore a notable part of the island’s modern history up close.
