Fandens Keglebane (Devil’s Bowling Alley) is a large glacial erratic located in Neksø Lystskov, south of Nexø. On top of the stone, there are 17 cup marks, small round indentations carved into the rock during the Late Bronze Age (approximately 1000-500 BC). The cup marks are often interpreted as fertility symbols and are the most common type of rock carving from this period.
The name “Fandens Keglebane” emerged in the late 1800s, referencing both the cup marks’ resemblance to a bowling alley and their pre-Christian religious significance. In recent times, a local tradition has developed where people offer coins on the stone, leading to its nickname “The Money Stone.”
