The Printzensköld Stones are three memorial stones set into the paving of Storegade in Rønne. They mark the spot where the Swedish commander Johan Printzensköld was shot and killed in 1658 during the uprising against the Swedish occupation of Bornholm.
The stones are traditionally associated with Printzensköld, his dog, and the year in which Bornholm returned to Danish rule. The inscriptions are now heavily worn, and their original wording is not known with certainty. Today, the stones serve as a lasting symbol of the struggle for freedom in 1658 and can be seen in the heart of Rønne’s urban space.
