Experience the world of glass from the inside: Baltic Sea Glass invites you to a small series of exclusive UNIKA events, where the studio’s skilled glassblowers will demonstrate their craft as they create glass art at an international level. The doors open at 5:30 pm, and visitors will be able to follow the entire process up close as a molten mass of glass at 1150°C is slowly and skilfully transformed into a finished vase or bowl.
Nature is the direct source of inspiration for all the unique pieces, and typically three glassblowers work closely together to create each piece. It is a focused and intense process – come and experience it for yourself! There will also be an opportunity to talk to the glassblowers, who will be happy to explain the ideas behind each piece and the processes involved in their work.
The programme is arranged so that one piece is created during the “first half”. This is followed by a break with a little sparkling wine and snacks, after which another piece will be created.

(And if you are unable to attend the event, remember that throughout the season, from Monday to Saturday, you can visit the workshop and watch the glassblowers at work between 10 am and 3 pm).
Magnus Heide Andreasen will talk about life in the Baltic Sea and the very special living conditions and challenges found in the waters around Bornholm. He will also talk about the Bornholm-based company Ivandet and a new technology that may be part of the solution to the problems affecting – among many other places – Teglkås Harbour.
Magnus is co-founder of the communication company Ivandet, based in Isværket at Tejn Harbour. He holds a PhD in marine biology, focusing on the consequences of oxygen depletion, and works at DTU on methods for restoring marine ecosystems.
