Slotslyngen
Slotslyngen is one of Bornholm’s most magnificent natural areas – a landscape where nature feels raw, open and alive all at once. Here, you move through varied terrain of cliffs, heather-covered hills, woodland and open grazing areas, where goats and cattle help maintain the landscape much as it has been for centuries.
The area originally belonged to Hammershus and still carries traces of its history – not in the form of walls, but in the structure of the landscape and the old paths winding through the terrain. Today, Slotslyngen is a protected nature area, with large sections designated as untouched forest to support biodiversity and natural processes.
It’s a place that invites exploration at your own pace. Follow the marked paths through rift valleys, across rocky outcrops and along the coastline, where views over the Baltic Sea unfold – on clear days, you can glimpse Sweden on the horizon. Along the way, both small and grand nature experiences await: viewpoints, waterfalls, dramatic rock formations and शांत forest areas.
Slotslyngen stretches from Hammershus in the north to Vang in the south and offers a range of fascinating points of interest. Some are easy to reach, while others require a bit more adventure – but all of them are part of the distinctive nature that makes this area truly special.
