Bodilsker

Bodilsker lies in south-eastern Bornholm, with Sankt Bodils Kirke as the natural centre of the area. There is no real village centre here, but rather an open cultural landscape with scattered farms, fields and small roads around the church. The area has a strong historical character, and for centuries the church has been a focal point for the surrounding countryside.

Several notable traces of Bornholm’s prehistory can be found nearby. The standing stones at Hjortebakken and Bønnestenene are among the area’s distinctive ancient monuments, while runestones and other historical remains can also be found at Sankt Bodils Kirke. Together, they create a close connection between the open Bornholm landscape and the island’s older cultural history.
