Melsted
Melsted is a small, charming fishing village located just south of Gudhjem. The two towns have grown together, and it is easy to walk between them, for example via the popular coastal path.
Melsted has a long history as a popular tourist destination, and every year many visitors come to experience the farm museum Melstedgård – as well as to enjoy the beautiful beach environment.
As in Gudhjem, there are clear traces here of the town’s past as an active small community that made its living from fishing. The small harbour of Melsted was once home to around 20 fishing boats.
Just south of Melsted lies Kobbeå Beach, which can easily be reached on foot via the coastal path.
