Experience glassblowing up close at Glød Glas Studio near Balka on Bornholm, as glassblowers Tobias Sode and Lene Dahl Jacobsen demonstrate one of the techniques central to their work with hand-blown glass.
The process begins with the pulling and preparation of a patterned glass cane. The cane is then incorporated into the hot glass, which is blown and shaped into a vase. As the work progresses, the pattern gradually unfolds and becomes an integral part of the finished piece.
The demonstration offers a rare insight into the precision, intense heat and Venetian-inspired glassmaking techniques that characterise the work of Glød Glas Studio. Get close to the process and discover how experience, timing and a steady hand transform hot glass into a unique vase.
